Ada, Oklahoma -December 17, 2012

Woodward Family,

I have now been on my mission for 2 months today!  I am 1/12th of the way done!  It is crazy how fast time goes by.  This transfer has gone by super fast.  I have no idea where the last six weeks went, but it was a good six weeks.

First, Carrie was baptized on Saturday, and she was confirmed a member of the church yesterday.  We really stressed the importance of being confirmed with her after what happened with Brandy.  We stressed it so much that by the time she was confirmed she just laughed whenever we told her that she wasn't a member until she was confirmed and received the Holy Ghost.  Her baptism was the best way to have ended my first transfer.

I forgot to tell you this last week so I'll tell you know.  We got snow in Ada last Monday Morning!  I was really excited to see it.  The only bad part to it was that is was super cold the next couple of days.  Oh well its better now.

Well this past week we started to teach a 10 year old named Blake.  It was a different experience to teach someone so young, but it was really fun.  We had a baptismal date set for January 5th but that isn't going to work anymore because he is moving to Norman with his mom.  That that was a bummer for this last week.

This next part may come as a shock to all of you, but so far I have done pretty well with eating food that has been put in front of me.  There have been some really weird things, such as fried green tomatos, but I managed to eat them so I wouldn't offend the members.  It still hasn't changed my opinion about the foods I eat, but I have been doing pretty well with that.

Well the big news that happened was on Saturday before Carrie's baptism.  Any bets on what it was that happened?  Well President Taylor called and Elder Fee is being transfered up to Edmond to be a Zone Leader.  So I will be losing my trainer on Wednesday.  It really wasn't as big of a shock for me as you would think it was just because I could see it coming.  I was really hoping that it wouldn't happen for another transfer, but it didn't.  I will be getting a new companion on Wednesday to come help in Ada.  His name is Elder Jones.  All that I know about Elder Jones so far is that he has been out on his mission for three transfers now plus his time in the MTC.  So probably for 5 months now.  It will be interesting to see how this will work.

This past week has been a Good one for Christina.  She came to Carrie's baptiam and was at church yesterday.  At both of those things she has felt the Spirit so strong.  We went and had a lesson with her again last night and we were able to reschedule her baptism for January 12th.  Well January 12th as long as she hasn't moved by then.  So far it isn't looking like she will have moved so I am excited for that day.  She was really sad when she found out that Elder Fee is being tranfered.

There is a question that I have for Dad.  With Ada having just become a Ward and all that stuff, the Bishop doesn't have a whole lot of want to help with missionary work right now because he is more focused on everything else.  So my question is what could we do on our end to get him more interested and wanting to help us?  I figured you would have a good idea what to do because you got put in as the Bishop of the 19th ward, and were kinda in the same situation the our Bishop is.  So if you have any idea on what we could do we would love it.

Well that pretty much wraps up my week.  I got the Christmas presents that you sent.  The box was pretty beat up so from what I can tell they are still in one piece.  Hopefully there wasn't anything fragile.  I gave Elder Fee his present so he will have that for while he is up in the city.  I almost opened my presents early under the reasoning that the world is going to end on Friday so if I waited until Christmas I would never get to know what they were.  I decided that that wasn't a good enough reason though, so for now they are under our little Christmas tree waiting for next week.  I don't know if they will stay there for another week though.  Only time will tell.

So yeah thats all from me.  I would say have fun in California but the world is going to end before you get there so you really can't have fun.  Oh well it will all work out in the end.  I love you all.  Don't make Mom and Dad's lives to hard over Christmas.

Love Elder Woodward
