Dear Woodward Family,
I am doing really good out here. There has been some stuff that has happened but not to much.
The first one that I can think of a two part episode. We decided
to go tracting out by ECU. We stopped on a corner and said a prayer
about where we needed to go next. We finished the prayer and started
tracting a street. After the second house a man in a red tuck pulled up
and said he saw us pray on hte corner. We thought that it was pretty
cool because it seemed like he was interested in learning about the
Restoration. He told us where he live and said to stop by some time.
We didn't have time to stop by that day so we went back to the area
yesterday because we were supposed to have a lesson with a girl who
lived around there. She ended up not being there so we decided to go
see if Red Truck Guy was home. We walked over to where he lived and
just as we were getting there he came out and said he had to leave for a
couple of minutes to go pick up a student. You are probably thinking
that he just said that, then drove off and left us standing outside.
Well he didn't do that. He came back and we went in and started to talk
with him. As it turns out he is a pastor for "The Assemblies of God."
We sat down and asked him some of his beliefs and a lot of what he
believed we had in common. We started to tell him some of what we
believed and for almost everything that we said he had something that
made it seem like we were wrong. It was then I decided all he wanted to
do was Bible bash with us. Overall it was not very good. He hardly
ever let us put in a word and tried telling me and Elder Fee we were
wrong about everything.
That was by far the biggest thing that I can remember happening,
maily because it was yesterday. But some of the other things that
happened. I got asked to give my first talk in sacrament this Sunday.
It should be pretty good, I hope. My bike has started to act up. I got
a flat tire on Saturday, so we have been doing a lot of driving. Th
other thing i noticed was that the gear shifter is having problems like
Dads bike did for a while. I am going to call Schlegal Bikes today to
see what the have to say about it. Luckily we are going up to OKC
tomorrow for the new missionary meeting, so we can stop by there and see
what they can do. We had Mission tour on Thursday. Elder Bowen came
and did a training session with us. It was pretty cool to have him come
after hearing his talk in conference last month.
Well this is going to be a shorter email. I will try to reply to
individual emails from now on but I am almost out of time for today.
Thank you all for everything that you do. I love you all so much and am
praying for all of you.
Love Elder Woodward
